The most precious thing anyone can give you is TIME. Ed, Ollie and I travelled over to Leicester on Thursday 24th June to spend the day at Parmdeep Vadesha’s house with him and Hanif Khan. We didn’t quite know what to expect but I was very exited. Somehow I knew that we would come away with a New Mindset…..and that is exactly what happened. …. I do wonder what Deep and Hanif must think of us, as Ed and I are a really ‘odd’ Business couple. I know we don’t come across as studious and serious as maybe we should for business, but you know what? What you see is what you get with us, and I think they understood that perfectly.
Deep surprised us by cooking a wonderful lunch of baked salmon and asparagus with potatoes, and was the perfect host. The coffee table was decorated with a bowl of strawberries and grapes to pick at. After lunch it was back to the task in hand of trying to get Ed, Ollie and I focused, (not an easy task) and Deep was great at pulling us ‘back on track’ each time we went off on a tangent.
Ed and I are ‘ideas’ guys but find it difficult to complete things before moving on to the next task, and I think Deep and Hanif drummed into our heads that we desperatly needed to get systemized and have staff in place to complete the tasks that we fail to finish. Funny how you can ‘hear’ things over and over, then one day you hear that very same thing and ‘it clicks’ in your brain, and you think, Oh Yeah, why didn’t I do that earlier, I knew it?…. I guess the time has to be right….and right it was on that day! Eureka!
We have returned home with a renewed energy and have already implemented some of their suggestions. Ollie has so much to be getting on with on the IT side of things, he’ll be going for months with Foz (Both my sons employed by us). So what can I say, these guys are brilliant, they have helped us so much, and I would just like to thank them for their TIME…..love you guys.xx
But as we all know, it has to be done…to be able to stay in ‘tip top’ condition and to make you feeeeel goooood! yeh whatever! But I did go, in fact I go twice a week and Jose, ( my personal trainer) does his best to encourage me. Poor lad! ha ha. Jose also has the unfortunate luck to have to train Ed too and is taking him out running to prepare for the New York Marathon this year….good luck on that one Ed!
We weren’t quite sure if we were going to make it to the Berkshire property meet this month, as things have been a bit mad……but we did and we took my son Ollie with us for his first ever property meet. It started off with a laugh in the car park when we arrived, we had stepped out of Ollie’s mini and had to walk a good 150 yards to reach the main doors. We then noted all the ‘big’ cars with their private plates all vying for prominent positions on the double yellow lines out side the front door. Now was that to make a statement or because wealthy investors can be bothered to walk, or both?
Inside, was a treat as Ed and I walked in, all the familiar old faces there to greet with a smile on their faces. So great to see everyone again. Ollie was lucky enough to have a chat with Parmdeep Vadesha and Glen Armstrong amongst the other top investors. Already, in such a short time he has learnt so much….Berkshire Property Meet is definitely one of the best meetings to attend…
How many of you can be so relaxed in your office that, you can have a shower after a 10k jog and sit at your office desk, in a towel, in front of your staff? Not a pretty sight for the staff, granted, but isn’t it great that we can do that? Coolio….but for gods sake Ed, keep the towel on please!
This weekend has been crazy…..3 days of seminars in London at Excel. Ed Ling and I attended the National Congress seminar, (Rich Dad, Poor Dad). Almost 12 hours per day of speakers and then having to party on into the night! Ed was particularly good at the partying bit, (thanks to Red Bull), enjoying Karaoke at a local Chinese restaurant until the early hours of the morning with his property friends. I, on the other hand, was the sensible one and went back to the hotel quite early…….(with me man)! lol.
I have to speak as I find, and I found the 3 days way too intense for me personally, and had to skive on the second day to go shopping in Oxford Street London with Paul Galbraith, hitting Camden and the music shop.. Now I can already hear you guys moaning, ‘think of the information you have missed’, well I just could not absorb that much all in one go, I’m blonde you see, I get fidgety and restless and my mind wanders, so I thought it best to have a break and be fresh to hear the speakers on Sunday.
Kevin Green was brilliant, hitting the right note with me immediately, by coming on stage and doing a funky dance….bang on Kev! Got my attention anyway! (oh come on, us property guys can be a bit dry sometimes)….Robert Kiyosaki is an inspiration and it was great to see him live. I think his free DVD given out at the event was brilliant and just perfect for me to show my sons, explaining everything nice and simply…(bankers are wan-ers)!
Ed and I were really impressed with his whole team in general. Don’t think I would go to another event of this size again though, been there, done it now. I find the smaller events better. I did find the amount of selling really irritating too and of course you can’t get away from the fact that it is very American and ‘cult like’ which doesn’t float my personal boat. Got my photo taken with Richard Tan who organised the even for Robert Kiyosaki, nice guy…..and met up with lots of old property friends, which is always the best.
Ed played a ‘blinder’ and managed to get to see Robert Kiyosaki and chatted with him, he was so exited and managed to get it on camera, (which is against the rules), but somehow I don’t think he’ll make a very good spy, you’ll see what I mean if you watch the video, ha ha…..
Anyway, next weekend I’m staying at home….for a rest……
Last weekend Ed and I attended Parmdeep Vadesha’s Underground summit at Heathrow. There lay a shock in store for me, I shake and panic at the thought of speaking in front of crowds, act the fool yes, but speak seriously, now that’s hard. To our suprise, Deep called us up to the front to introduce ourselves, the first time I think I have ever had to speak in front of a large audience, seriously. Waffled on through it, Ed on the other hand was his usual amusing self, announcing to the attentive audience ‘This is Heidi my business partner, and her husband has recently run off with another woman’…the audience were momentarily confused as to how they should react but then saw me laugh and joined in….. It certainly broke the ice!
Whilst I was a little nervous I survived and looking back, it did me the world of good. The next day was my birthday, (53), and I again found myself on the stage to receive a delicious chocolate cake and a resounding ‘happy birthday’ from the audience. Quite overwhelming, but made my day!
There was also an auction to spend the day with Hanif and Deep to look at how they run their business and guess who won the bid for this? Yes, Ed….there he was at the back of the room bidding his little heart out, just ‘for the hell of it’, (raising 1500 for Cancer research). So, we shall soon be visiting Deep, Hanif and team, which I am really looking forward to.
My two sons, Foster (Foz age 22) and Oliver (Ollie age 21) have just joined us in Premier Property so we now have two brilliant IT people. It’s so exiting for me to have them on board. They have already purchased their own property earning them a profit of £250.00 pcm. Go Boys!! I will be taking Ollie with me to meet Deep and Hanif. They already know more about property than most of the population and I know they are gonna make it big!
Deep, Hanif and the team, put on a brilliant event, which was packed with so much useful info for the ‘newbies’ and experienced alike. Thank you guys, for a most enjoyable weekend. Bloody Brilliant!!
